A notch is a small mark on the edge of a pattern piece. It shows which edges meet when you sew, for example the front and back at the side seam.
On the paper a notch is a small cut. In the file it becomes a short tick on the contour. PatternScan Pro detects notches when digitizing, and in the editor you can add, move or delete them. They survive into the exports, in the AAMA/ASTM DXF as proper notch points.
