Matching point

Matching points mark which points of two pieces have to meet when sewing. Unlike a notch they often sit inside the piece, at a dart tip or a pocket position.

In the file

They are points or short lines inside the contour and do not belong to the outline. They need to survive into the file, otherwise the orientation for assembling the pieces is missing.
